Skitch

Ever wanted to create sketches on your photos, documents, web pages, etc.? Skitch is the app for you. Skitch allows you to draw and change photos, documents, web pages, or simply draw on a blank page. You can then save your new drawings or upload them to share them with others. Skitch is ONLY an app on devices or tablets. This program can't be used through a computer or laptop.

Negatives: This app is great to use a few times with the students or use it as an option in a menu type of choice board. I do not see the longevity of the use of this app in the classroom due to the students getting bored from it. It is a simple drawing app over pictures and other documents- not much to get excited over from a kid perspective.

Lesson Ideas: I would use this app in a menu choice board. I think that Skitch can be used as a way to fulfill a project, but I do not think that it is something that can be used daily. I also don’t think that you should assign just this app as the single way to fulfill an assignment because it has limited features.

Due to Skitch being solely a smart phone or tablet tool, I was only able to get a few screenshots. It is a very simple app and you do not even need an account. If you choose to sign up for an Evernote account (the company that created Skitch) that is completely free as well.
